A leader in southeastern North Carolina's musical community for over two decades, “Love Whip” is the founder of the Blues Society of the Lower Cape Fear, Beat Magazine and the Hard Listenership concert series. He has taught blues history, songwriting and harmonica to over 2,000 people, ranging in age from four to eighty-four in workshops, seminars, arts camps and private lessons, including those for Laura Dern for the film, Ramblin' Rose.
